Mercantile Insurance Company Limited is functional as a public limited since 1996. MICL was started with Authorized Capital of Tk. 100 Crore and Paid Up Capital of Tk. 34.98 Crore. It has been listed in Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange later. Today it has spreaded its wings to 15 branches and has a team of 333 employees to serve its customer.

Company has demonstrated solid financial result in the first half of the financial year 2012-13. Its net premium income during this period was at Tk. 108.2 Million, and net profit after tax for the same period was at Tk. 42.92. Both Premium income and net profit showed fantastic growth of 38.8% and 22.41% respectively when compared with FY11’s first half performance. EPS generated due to good profit for first half was at Tk. 1.12.
